5 Ways to Start Getting Festive for Halloween
In honor of it being October, I have decided to dedicate an article to the spookiest time of the year. Yes Halloween is right around the corner and I couldn’t be anymore excited. There are a couple of things that you should’ve done already for Halloween. If not, then here are a couple of things to get you started for the scariest time of the year.
Have a Scary Movie Marathon
It’s not Halloween if you haven’t watched at least 10 scary movies that keep you up at night. This is literally the month to watch the whole Halloween series. It’s literally a tradition in October to sit down and watch some good horror and thriller films (well for me). There are many channels that have scary marathons like AMC and Freeform. So invite some friends over and make some popcorn and be prepared to stay up all night.
Decorate Your Place
Hang paper bats from your fan, add pumpkin stickers to your wall, place spooky candles on tables, add orange and purple lights and just do everything that you can think of! One of my favorite parts about Halloween are the decorations. People get so creative with them. For instance, they can make it look like a witch flew into their house or a monster is looking out of their window. Some people even host a haunted house event in their own home. Oh, and don’t forget to buy a pumpkin scented candle to add to the effect.
Go Pumpkin Carving
Head over to a pumpkin patch with some friends and see who can carve the best pumpkin face. I find pumpkin carving so adorable because people of all ages do it for Halloween. While you’re at it, might as well take cute pictures to post on Instagram.
Make Halloween Treats
If you’ve read any of my articles, you know what I’m about to tell you, PINTEREST! Pinterest has numerous recipes that you could use to make for Halloween. Pinners come up with “out of the box” ideas that are sure to wow your friends and family when they come over for some Halloween treats. I’m sure that you’ll want to make something other than cookies covered in frosting in the shape of a ghost.
Purchase a Costume
Although it can be frustrating at times, I absolutely love costume shopping! I love getting creative and finding pieces that go together. It’s what Halloween’s all about!
So there you have it! Get those decorations out, tune in for a good Friday the 13th marathon, and let the Halloween festivities begin!
